Not going to lie, I’m getting a little over re-watching episodes of the Kardashian family eating salads. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a big fan of plonking myself in front of some trashy reality TV and letting my brain sign off (especially after some furious essay writing at uni). But lately, I’ve been on the lookout for something more worthwhile to sink my teeth into. Introducing… Denial.
This film is a gooooodie alright.
She is taken to court by the writer-slash-self proclaimed historian David Irving (played by Timothy Spall), who accuses her of defamation of character after Deborah publicises her views of David’s anti-semitic ways.
Here’s a quick 3-minute video of the very David Irving himself, giving his (wrong, very wrong) views on the Holocaust.
Now, this whole debate was news to me. There were people that didn’t believe the Holocaust happened… seriously? In the early 2000s?! I was mind-boggled at the thought. But it did keep me glued to the screen, desperate to find out how it ends. I never wanted to miss a second – even when I really, reaaaally needed to go to the bathroom.
The film comes out on 13 April and I definitely recommend giving it a watch.
