Zoo Trips and Hair Cuts

The zoo, haircuts and a birthday…it’s been a busy few weeks for Debb and little Chloe – read all about it in this weeks’ diary…

Chloe’s haircut:

Chloe had beautiful long hair. Ever since she’s been born I’ve only given her hair minimal trims to keep it looking relatively tidy. Her hair is so straight, it looks like its been ironed! Unfortunately, she detests hair clips and hair ties, so her hair is always as is. The other night I asked her if she’d like me to cut her hair. She said yes. So I started about cutting her hair, which was at a length that was halfway down her back. It was painful (for me) to cut her hair to a shoulder length style, I loved her long hair. But it wasn’t very practical for her. For example, she’d lean over her food plates and get food in her hair or get toys stuck in her hair! So I finished her haircut and she really suits the cute bob style she has. I told her she looked beautiful and she said ‘I know’.

Zoo trip:

Chloe, Chloe’s Dad and I took Chloe to the Auckland Zoo the other week. I had promised Chloe that when Mummy had finished school I would take her to the big zoo. I never promise her things that I couldn’t keep. Chloe’s favourite animal was the giraffes, so her Dad got her a toy giraffe when we left. Anyone who’s been to the Auckland Zoo may remember a big dragon, that I think is made of cement. My parents took me to the Auckland Zoo when I was about two and a half, and got a photo of me sitting inside the dragon’s mouth. I took a photo of Chloe doing the exact same thing, its funny how I was once the little girl inside the dragon’s mouth and now my daughter is the one sitting inside the dragon’s mouth!

The years roll on…..

Talking about years going by, it’s my birthday this week. I’ll be turning 23! Truthfully, I feel a lot older than 23. Time seems to go a lot faster as you get older. For my birthday I think I’ll just spend the day doing cool things with Chloe, doing things she enjoys. I am, however, going to go out with my friends for a night. I haven’t been out for a night out for three months, due to studying and that spell when I was sick for about a month, so I’m looking forward to a good night out. I’m sure my friends are too, one friend had her first child six weeks ago, another has just separated from her husband and become an instant single mum (she has a son) and another has been back from Australia for a year and this will be only the second time we’ve been out together for a night since she’s been back. So needless to say, we’re all looking forward to a fun night out!

Well that’s it from me this week,
