Ingredients

| 2 | Medium | Onions (chopped) |
| 4 | Cloves | Garlic (crushed) |
| 1 | Tablespoon | Ginger (grated) |
| 500 | Grams | Bacon Rashers (chopped) |
| 1 | Stem | Fresh Lemongrass |
| 2 | Tablespoons | Coriander (ground) |
| 2 | Tablespoons | Cumin (ground) |
| 2 | Teaspoons | Anise (ground) |
| 1 | Tablespoon | Garim Masala |
| 3 | Large | Kumara |
| 2 | Litres | Water |
| 4 | Cubes | Bacon Stock |
Method
Heat oil in large pan.
Add onions, garlic, ginger, bacon, lemon grass and spices.
Cook, stirring, until onions are soft.
Add kumara, water and crumbled stock cubes.
Simmer, covered, for about 30 minutes or until kumara is soft.
Remove lid and simmer for 15 minutes.
Blend or process mixture in batches until smooth, return to pan, and stir until hot.
