Reader favourite: DIY Necklace

To create your own necklace like this, all you need are some straws, a can of gold spray paint (or silver if you prefer), some long black shoestrings and two gold (or silver) bolts.

1. Cut straws into 16 pieces, each 1.5 inches long.  
2. Spray the straws with the gold spray paint and let dry for 24 hours.  
3. Weave the two shoelaces through the straws.  
4. Thread bolts through the shoelace ends.  
5. Put around your neck.
