If like me, you’re unable to pop over to New York to see Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at The Met, this virtual tour is a godsend. The video (narrated by the curator Andrew Bolton), walks you briefly through each gallery in the exhibition and gives you a real feeling for the collection as a whole.
Savage Beauty features 100 ensembles and 70 accessories from the late Alexander McQueen’s incredible 19 year career. Thankfully 42 selected pieces have been gorgeously photographed and are up on The Met website with audio snippets from both Andrew Bolton and Creative Director Sarah Burton, which will keep you engrossed for hours.
Ensemble, The Girl Who Lived in the Tree, AW08/09
I highly recommend picking up the exhibition catalog too, it’s a must-have for any McQueen fan and available now from The Met Store for US$45.
