Fruit is the perfect snack
Fruits such as strawberries, pears, apples and orange peels can do wonders for your teeth as their acids oxidise stains ! So make fruit your friend this summer not only for a healthier you but for a brighter smile. These fruits can make a recognisable difference to your teeth. For a little extra stain removal try rubbing orange peel across your teeth occasionally. Stare clear of lemons… yes they will whiten your teeth but the acid is too strong and can eat away at your tooth enamel!
Work that saliva!
Saliva acts like as a natural mouthwash which removes stains and food particles. Try chewing naturally chewy foods such as raisins or sugar free gum. Stare clear of sugary foods or gums.
Floss, floss, floss!
Don’t underestimate the importance of flossing. Doing it daily will help to remove food particles and plaque that can cause staining between your teeth and make them look discoloured. Simply flossing every night will make your teeth whiter by not allowing a build up or deterioration to occur. A wax floss isn’t natural but it is a simple routine to get into now to prevent problems in the future.
Create an illusion.
By using red lipsticks with blue undertones will instantly give the illusion that your teeth are sparkling white! Bright red lipstick can actually make your lips look 2 shades whiter! So work that pout ladies.
Say yes to a straw
Using a straw allows liquids to by-pass our teeth and therefore we are exposing our teeth to less sugar and preventing plaque build up and stains. It’s a no brainer, and straws are ladylike anyway to it’s a win win!
Say yes please to Milk & Cheese
There is lot’s of evidence to suggest that a little cheese after a meal will help to reduce plaque build up and lead to whiter, brighter teeth. Milk naturally contains calcium which helps to keep your teeth string and white. Try drinking yellow top milk rather than green as it is still just as low fat but has added calcium for stronger teeth and bones.
