#FASHIONFIX: New Threads For The Girl Who Wants To Push The Boundaries
Jerome Taylor, designer of ‘Not For You Clothing’ showcased his collection at New Zealand Fashion Week earlier this year.
His clothing, which is all made in Wellington from the sketch to sew, is designed to make you feel confident and help you to stand out from the crowd.
This is what makes Not For You a perfect addition to your closet and it also makes Jerome Taylor a designer to watch.
As a lot of you know we showcased my 2018 collection at New Zealand Fashion Week two weeks ago and the feedback I have been getting is amazing! Since the show not only has my brand grown but I have learnt so much as a person. The coverage I have been getting is insane, from the radio to fb, ig, blogs and also numerous other websites such as Vice. I wanted to take this time to say thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me and my brand. Thank you to everyone who has helped me to get to where I am today whether it was helping me cut, sew, model, pattern make, taking days off work and study or just coming along to a show in support. I honestly couldn’t of done it without you all. THANK YOU ALL!! Here's a few pics of my show and a video will be coming out shortly.
While clothing and fashion can easily become a test of #WHOWOREITBETTER Not For You Clothing is choosing to be in its own lane. Creating garments that are at times hand painted, always handmade and an example of New Zealand’s talented creatives, who we should be buying from if we can, because buying local is what all the cool kids are doing these days.
If you still need convincing of why you need Not For You in your closet, here are a couple more reasons why Not For You Clothing is in fact, for you.
Firstly, it helps you to push those boundaries. On those days when you’re feeling without inspirational a Not For You coat can make you feel like the powerful woman or man that you are.
Secondly, Not For You Clothing makes a statement if you’re looking to back a brand that supports big ideas and in part advocates on behalf of solving New Zealand’s big issues, then look to Not For You. On his runway, at New Zealand Fashion Week Jerome made powerful statements about homelessness.
If you like the idea of fashion giving voice to larger subject matters then you should definitely purchase some threads to give your voice to the movement, because it’s only growing.
Not For You Clothing is perfect for the girl who wants to push the boundary and it is a good starting point for the girl who wants to stand out but isn’t sure how to.
If you are either of these girls, you’re welcome. If this doesn’t sound like you, Not For You is still for you, because the beautiful thing about these designs is that you have the power to define what they mean to you.
