It’s dating sir, but not as we know it!
We’re all familiar with blind dating, speed dating and group dating…now its time to get acquainted with Edge dating.
The Edge Dating Game kicked off in March with a series of blind dates between 9 guys and 9 girls. The contestants were sent off on dates then reported back on their night out on The Morning Madhouse the following day.
The daters each rated their mate, then Edge listeners got to have their say on who deserved a berth on the Edge cruise. The results came in, and these are the 12 lucky daters who have won themselves a place on the Edge Dating Game cruise…
The Edge daters will set sail from Sydney on May 11 and head off on a nine-day cruise around the islands of Vanuatu, Noumea and Lifou. They’ll be hoping for fine weather along the way, because the 12 singles will be dating up a storm on board the ship!
CRUISERS:
Nicole Bass – Christchurch
Bevan Lang – Fitter and turner, Rotorua
Tarsh Decke – News video editor, Wellington
Linz Mccord – Physio student / personal trainer, Auckland
Aimee Miller – Nail technician, Nelson
Joel Seddon – Surveying student, Dunedin
Anna Petrie – Airline administrator, Auckland
Michael Horsburgh – Waikato
Kate Walkinshaw – Christchurch
Zac Holdsworth – Engineering student, Christchurch
Miranda Likeman – Journalist, Auckland
WILD CARD!
The cruise had to be postponed due to problems with the ship, so some of the original cruise finalists couldn’t make it. In true Edge style, the daters will be joined by a WILD CARD entry, which is sure to make things interesting!
If you missed the goings-on of the semi-final round, here’s the goss…
Bevan and Aimee had a very good first date. After dinner and a wander round the Viaduct the pair went back to the motel to “watch TV” over a few drinks. They said nothing happened, but we’ll be keeping an eye on their antics on the cruise.
Michael and Kate were another pair who dined late then went back to the hotel to watch TV. The night ended with a hug and a kiss, but the pair got together again the next day and hung out until their flight home. Two more daters to keep an eye on!
Miranda’s semi-final date Ben didn’t make it on the cruise, but they ended up back at her place and he stayed the night. Scandalous!
The 12 daters will go head to head on the nine-day dating contest that will find the top male and female Edge daters for 2003. The cruisers will go on dates each day and then rate each other out of ten at the end of each date. The guy and girl with the most points at the end of the nine day cruise will win themselves another fantastic P&O cruise!
Last year nzgirl head honcho Jenene was lucky enough to be on the inaugural Edge dating cruise. There was kissing, scandal, scoring and an awful lot of drinking. Check out last year’s diary for an idea of what to expect from this year’s cruise….
The Edge Dating Game kicks off on Sunday May 11 so stay tuned for all the on-board goss! You can also check out photos of the dates at the Edge website – www.theedge.co.nz/dating
