This yummy hot chocolate recipe uses coconut milk for extra creaminess and spices for extra warmth.
♥ 1 can coconut milk
♥ 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
♥ 4 tablespoons sugar or other sweetener
♥ Mixed spices (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, chili) to taste
♥ Two squares of milk or dark chocolate (for garnish)
1. Sift the cocoa powder into a saucepan. (Okay, I don’t often sift it – but it’s better to sift it so you don’t get clumps!).
2, Add the rest of the ingredients except chocolate squares. Turn the element to medium heat and whisk, whisk, whisk until your arm is about to drop off.
3. At this point, the hot chocolate should be blended and may be threatening to boil over. Bring to a low boil and then simmer. Keep whisking for a couple of minutes.
4. Take off the heat and pour (carefully) into two mugs. Create chocolate curls using a potato peeler on the squares of chocolate to garnish. You can also add extra cream and cinnamon.
