Roasted chickpeas are a delicious healthy snack, and the good news is you can make your own at a fraction of the cost of bought ones. They’re a source of protein and fibre which can help keep you feeling fuller for longer. Here’s how to make your own.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- herb and garlic seasoning
- pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Drain the can of chickpeas and rinse well in a colander. Dry off with a clean tea towel. Place on an oven tray and rub with paper towel so any skins come off and the are completely dry.
Drizzle over the oil and mix around the chickpeas. Sprinkle over the herb and garlic seasoning and cayenne pepper. Place in oven and bake for 30-40 minutes until crispy. Keep an eye on the chickpeas to ensure they don’t burn. Let them cool, eat and enjoy.
