Homemade Baby Cupcakes

I’ve long been a fan of things that come in dinky little sizes. Whether it’s a chocolate bar or hotel shampoos, things are always better in miniature. While I have a great little collection of miniature supplies at home (mostly stuffed in the bathroom cupboard), I’d never ventured into making mini treats.

Then last weekend I spotted those little tomato sauce tubs at Wendy’s and realised that they looked like tiny cupcake cases! So I cheekily grabbed a handful and stashed them away to make some bite sized, fairy-like cupcakes.

To make them just line the cases up on a flat baking tray (they’re strong enough to hold themselves up) and preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Then simply mix up a batch of your favourite cupcake mixture (or try these ones!) and fill each case with a heaped teaspoon of cupcake mixture, which leaves each case sitting ¾ full.

Pop them in the oven for 7 – 8 minutes depending on your oven and transfer to a cooling rack. Once cool, ice with your favourite icing and you’re done!
