On the 24th of August Iva Lamkum’s debut album ‘Black Eagle’ was released. Iva’s songs are incredibly catchy and won’t let you go, I currently have her single ‘White Roses’ on repeat.
Her sound is hard to categorize as she brings a lot of different styles to her music – her album explores the world of reggae, funk, rock and blues. This has been a brave move, but has obviously paid off for the soulstress with MTV Iggy in the USA naming her as one of the Top 13 Diva’s from Around The World to watch (coming in at No 5 and beating Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon).
This Kiwi soulbird is definitely one to keep an eye (and ear) out for.
Next month, Iva and her band will play their first international show, joining the likes of Maroon 5 and Katy Perry at the Grand Prix Formula 1 in Singapore.
A phenomenal live performer, Iva will be playing a show in Auckland on September 15th before she departs for Singapore.
Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased on Eventfinder.
