The word ombre in French means shadow or shade, but in beauty land it’s that gorgeous dip-dye effect of graduated colour.
When applied to your lips, it creates an awesome 3D effect to make them look plumper, plus it’s just pretty darn cool.
You can experiment with as many different colours as you choose, as long as they’re in the same colour family. And I recommend at least 2-3 shades, preferably in matte and opaque. Mac is obviously the preferred choice.
Here’s some simple application tips for the perfect ombre lips:
1. Fill your entire lip with the darker colour
2. Use a lip brush or your finger to blend the lighter colour in the middle of your pout
3. Add a clear gloss to finish
4. Have fun and get experimenting!
