Sweeping Auckland up in a riot of crazy characters, zombies and serious amounts of candy, the Armageddon expo is on again this weekend at the ASB Showgrounds. Showcasing everything new and exciting from the worlds of gaming, comics, sci-fi, anime, fantasy and much more, it brings together retailers and enthusiasts from all over the country to socialise, be entertained, shop and have a great day out.
Cosplay (dressing up in the costumes of different characters) is a big part of the event with lots of the crowd decked out in some pretty crazy and detailed costumes, much to the delight of those around them. Armageddon also brings in celebrities from overseas from various television shows, films and comic books etc to meet their ever-growing army of fans, which is one of the big draws of the event. Panel discussions, displays and entertainers also keep things interesting with lots to see and experience all day long.
Whilst I admit to not knowing much about gaming, sci-fi or comics, I was still entertained and amused by what was on offer, I also left with a whole lot of delicious treats!
