This week’s Hot Five has been compiled by nzgirl blogger Nicola Graham! It’s packed with food, fashion and entertainment…enjoy!

LUSTING AFTER_Nike Hachi leopard print shoes
Nike is well known for stylish and comfortable sports gear, but you may not know they also make equally stylish street wear. One of my favourites from their new range is the Hachi shoes. I love the leopard print – right on trend. These would look great with skinny jeans and a casual tee for a relaxing weekend. The RRP is $150 and they are available from sports shops around the country.

CALLING ALL FOODIES_Food and People event
The one thing that always brings people together is food. And this event at 1885 Britomart will do just that, bringing together some of NZ’s most recognised design, fashion, food, music and media over the shared passion of food. Food and People will run for 11 weeks – it kicks off on 11 October with Karen Walker and Mikhail Gherman sharing their culinary experiences from around the world. Together with chefs, the pair will create a casual menu, complemented by unique drink choices, to be served to guests after an informal presentation. The series is sponsored by Kim Crawford, who will be serving delicious wine cocktails and wine-infused ice-pops. #yum Entry is free, so if you’re into good food and drink, plus interesting speakers, then head along. It’s first in first served. For more information, visit their website or facebook page.
DEVOURING_ Barbecue Thai yellow chicken
With the arrival of daylight savings, it’s time for the BBQ to come out of the garage and into action! I’ve found my new favourite recipe for the barbecue this summer. This chicken recipe is marinated in delicious Asian flavours of fish sauce, garlic, coriander, turmeric and lemon and then grilled on the barbecue. Serve with a crispy garden salad, and it’s the perfect spring dinner. Find the full recipe here.

PLANNING FOR_ March Hare Wine Cycle tours, Martinborough
If you missed out on tickets for Toast Martinborough, I’ve got a fun alternative. Why not plan a girls’ weekend in Martinborough and go on a wine tour? March Hare runs cycle tours through Martinborough. You can spend the afternoon peddling at your leisure through the vineyards of Martinborough, sampling delicious wines and picnicking in between. I’m planning on getting the girls together and doing just that! Cost per person is $65. For more information, visit the March Hare website.
LOVING_Triangle stud earrings
Over the past 6 months I seem to have lost a few of my earrings, so I’ve been on the hunt for some simple but stylish earrings that didn’t cost too much. In my searching, I fell in love with these cute studs on Esty. I love the simple triangle shape and the range of cool colours. The pastel mint and peach are perfect colours for spring/summer. I’ve ordered these in mint and black – can’t wait for them to arrive. And they’re a bargain too – just US$12 plus postage. Find them on the Etsy store Laonato.
Hope you’ve enjoyed my Hot Five this week! Nicola, Eat Well NZ
