In today’s Hot Five you’ll find tasty new treats, cheap as chips workout gear and an ol’ fave returning to TV2!

CRAVING_ Little Paddock Ice Cream
If you follow us on Instagram (@nzgirlHQ), yesterday you would have seen a very welcomed addition to our freezer. We received a special delivery of the brand spanking new Little Paddock Ice-Cream. #fullfatfriday came early this week! The new range has five flavours – we were of course thinking of you when we taste tested each of them. Our favourites are the Caramel Slice, Chocolate Brownie and the Mister Boysenberry. There’s also a Captain Vanilla and Baby Cupcake flavour (yes, cupcake ice-cream). Apart from the creamy goodness, the good thing about this range is it’s all natural and free from all the nasties like artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. If you’re an ice-cream lover find it at New World and specialty stores nationwide for $8.99 a tub.

LUSTING FOR_ Active Intent sports gear
It’s official, winter’s days are numbered and spring will be here before you know it. Can I get a whoop whoop? The bad news is this means the bikini season is gaining on us at a rapid rate. So if you’re about to dust off your ol’ running shoes, head to The Warehouse first because the new collection of Active Intent gear is the best yet. Our fitness guru Nicola Graham loves the range for being low cost and stylish plus its Cooldry technology and four-way stretch means you get everything you need and want from your workout gear. We love the range’s bright coloured crop tops and tanks plus the introduction of the yoga style pant. Find it at The Warehouse stores nationwide from $20. Our fave is the stripy crop top which is due to hit stores in September.
MUNCHING ON_ Healtheries Grain Wafers
On each desk in the nzgirl office you will find a (half eaten) packet of Healtheries Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Grain Wafers. Sure, it sounds like cardboard but you’ll be surprised at how moreish these wafers are. You could literally eat a pack in one day. #speakingfromexperience They are a great substitute snack when you want to reach for something sweet, but are also really scrummy with a lathering of hummus and champagne ham for lunch. Next time you’re in the supermarket, remember these crackers get the nzgirl seal of approval. Find them in the rice wafer isle for $3.49 at your local supermarket or online here.

BUFFING UP WITH_ Nivea Exfoliating Wipes
On the beauty counter this week is the new cleansing wipes from Nivea. The 3-in-1 Daily Deep Cleansing Wipes work to help prevent impurities forming on your skin because the double-sided cloth not only cleanses but exfoliates too. Use the smooth side first to remove dirt and makeup from your skin, and then follow up with the textured side. Another neat feature is the Magnolia Bark extract – its job is to help fight bacteria to keep those impurities at bay. The wipes are easy-to-use and leave your skin feeling clean, fresh and energised. Find the wipes at supermarkets nationwide for $11.04 now.
LOOKING FORWARD TO_Grey’s Anatomy Season 8
That’s right, Meredith, McDreamy and McSteamy are coming back to the small screen for the next season of Grey’s Anatomy. Guilty pleasure yes, but pleasure none the less. A quick recap – Meredith is in deep doo doo for messing with Derek’s Alzheimer trial, Cristina wants an abortion, April was appointed Chief Resident and Meredith was left with Malawi Baby Zola. I’ve heard from a reliable source in the Northern Hemisphere, that this season is good, real good so I’m looking forward to it. Hey – as long as they don’t do another musical number I’ll be happy! Watch the teaser here. The series kicks off this Monday at 8.35pm on TV2.
Happy Friday!x
