This week the nzgirl team enjoyed our monthly girl’s night out to Events Cinema’s Chicks at the Flicks to see What to Expect, When You’re Expecting. The film, with a star studded cast and celeb cameos, takes you on the journey of five mums-to-be as they prepare for motherhood. Fun, light-hearted and a varying degree of laugh-out-loud and shed-a-tea moments, it ticks all the right boxes of a great rom-com. Basically, “it’s preger-iffic”! Watch the trailer here. LOOKING FORWARD TO_Missy Higgins’ NZ Tour
Missy Higgins fan? Good news – she’s back AND on her way to NZ for a concert in August. After taking a wee five year break from the music industry, today Missy launches her new album The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle including new single Unashamed Desire. (Have a listen here.) I’m a Missy Higgins fan from back in The Sound of White days and am excited to have the Aussie award-winning artist back in my playlist. Tickets are on sale now for the show on Tuesday August 7 at Auckland’s new Rangatira at Q Theatre.

Aussie brand Juuce has just released a new dry shampoo in NZ called Dirty Deeds (now it makes sense right?). The new kid on the dry shampoo block, is a bright pink, handbag sized bottle with a unique power based formulation to absorb dirt and excess oil. The best bit? The smell – a chocolatey aroma so good you could eat it*! Find it at various hair salons nationwide for $24.10.

BOUGHT A COUPLE OF_ Supre Striped Knit Cardigans
Is it just me, or is a good cardi hard to find lately? I’ve spent a good month trawling through shops and coming home empty handed. That all changed this week with the discovery of this cardigan from Supre (aaand it’s on sale, bonus!). You can’t go wrong with a basic cardigan no matter the season – whether you need an easy throw over in summer or another layer of warmth in winter. This one will go with any outfit be it a cute dress or jeans and a tee. Granted, it may not stand the test of time, but at $20 does that really matter? You can afford a couple in a number of colours at that price.

Get ready for it, I’m about to change the way you listen to music. Gone are the days of working up a hefty iTunes fare…. it’s time to meet Spotify. I think you’re going to be good friends. So, what is Spotify? Think of it as an on-demand music library that lets you access 16 MILLION songs on your computer for free. (Yip, free.) Newly released in NZ, nzgirlHQ has been singing, dancing and bopping along to tracks all week. Simply search for a song, artist or playlist hit play and you’re away. You can also create your own playlists. There’s the occasional ad, but you can get rid of those by paying $7.50 a month (you get other perks too). There’s also a mobile version so you can listen to Spotify on-the-go under their Premium subscription. They’ve thought of everything! The only problem?
