Q1) I have dark brown hair and a brownish looking moustache and I really want to get rid of it. My mum told me that it’s never a good idea to remove my moustache, as it will gross back even worse. So do you have any ideas you could provide me with? Jill
Dear Jill, I would recommend bleaching, as it is cost effective because a little goes a long way. You can get it done by your local beauty therapist or you could try doing it yourself at home. If you decide to do it yourself, I would recommend you use Mariana Hair, Face and Body Lightener $23.95. But, removing the hair is not a completely bad idea! Waxing works wonderfully as it removes the hair right from the root. But if you were to try waxing your moustache, I would advise you to get it done professionally, as some waxing products can cause the skin to break out.
Q2) Hey, I have a problem with my eyebrows. They are really dark and since I got highlights through my hair, they look even darker! Is there anything I can do about them? Kazza
Dear Kazza, The best thing for you to do is to get your eyebrows bleached. You could do it yourself at home, or get it done by a beauty therapist who will dye them with facial-hair bleach. Once you have lightened your brows, you will find that your facial features will look softer and open up your face.
Q3) Hello. My friend plucked my eyebrows for me, but the end result was a gross one. I have no idea how to shape my eyebrows. Any advice? Missy
Dear Missy, If you take a pencil and hold it vertically right beside your nose, the point where the pencil meets the eyebrow is where you should start tweezing. A good time to tweeze is after you have had a shower, as your skin is softer, making the tweezing less painful. Make sure you pluck your eyebrows in the direction they grow and never pluck the hairs above your brow. But, if you are really worried about their shape and a little too worried to tackle your brows yourself, I would recommend you go to a professional.
