Yep folks its that time again the ball season has arrived early this year & what! I hear you cry is the look for this season.
We have had a lot of requests for curls but not tight tizzy wizzy curls, more the loose flowing locks style.
The formal but informal look.
On Saturday the 28th of July the Kristen school ball was held at the Hilton hotel on princess wharf in Auckland.
Our eagle eye scout was snapping away at SERVILLES Milford mall while the girls were getting their beautiful locks fashioned to perfection.
We love the look of high shine on all of the finished results & as you can see the curls are loose but still sleek.
We have moved away from the grungy look of last year to a more romantic feeling in our hair up work. The curl is not so restricted but is still held well in place by a smoother look at the front.
Also notice that the curl is not piled up too high, Rather it is concentrated below the crown & almost cascades down into the back of the head.
You can see the advantage of having a great colour in your hair as the sleek look brings out all the definition & beautiful tones differences in the colour.
I get loads of questions about what to do for the BIG FORMAL DOO so my advice is… In preparation get your hair lightly trimmed & decide on a colour that suits your hair.
Have the colour about a week before the formal & I would recommend something not too light as this may look dull & dry looking. Go for a semi permanent with a few hi lights in the front area.
This will give a high shine to the finished style .(looks great in photos).
Remember don’t go in with freshly washed hair!!
We recommend that the hair be washed the day before as it will hold curl better. If the hair is too clean, the curl will drop out way to soon.
Remember to wear something that you can unbutton rather than a sweat shirt that you will have to pull over your head. It is better that you arrange a make up artist in the salon rather than having to dash off to the other side of town to have it done.
