Salasai Silk Hooded Mini Dress, $139 on sale from Carlson
Yes, guilty. Another Saturday morning purchase. But with the bargains on the racks right now, you’d be mad not to. This Salasai number is totally not my usual style – more of a hybrid of many of them. I love smart casual (anything with a hood = good), I love silk (although not taking care of it), it goes without saying I love black, and I love multifunction, i.e. tops that can be dresses or vice versa. Great now with heels and bare legs, hot in winter with leggings and high-heeled boots.

Siren Heels, $179.99 from Royal T
This month I’m not meant to be spending any money on frivolous things, but it’s awfully hard when I come across gorgeous things like these heels from Siren. I love the colour block thick straps, amazing buckle closure and the funky modern shape. A half way cross between an ankle boot and a shoe, they are just the thing to lift my spirits! Did I mention the absolutely amazing heel on them? Very Chloe, and a little bit scary in a good way!

Wasabi Vinagerette, $14, from
Telegraph Hill
This is a little gem – perfect for that casual but stunning thrown-together lunch or dinner.  I recently wowed visitors by using it to dress a simple coleslaw, and on another occasion drizzled it over a warm vegetable salad of baked kumara wedges, blanched round beans and spring onions. I’m told it is delicious on pan-fried fish, so look forward to trying that too. Telegraph Hill has an amazing range of olives, olive-oils and complimentary products.  I have it on very good authority that their Balsamic Drizzle is equally addictive! Yum!

Madara dress $59 on sale
Two of my very lovely friends got married th is month so naturally I needed a new dress to mark the occasion! The only snag? I’m in the midst of a big budgeting effort right now so I wasn’t able to splurge out too much. Me being me, I had left finding something to wear till the morning of the wedding, so I popped down to my local mall in the hopes that something would grab me. I went into Madara (in Albany Westfield) and saw this gorgeous wee number on the sale rack. It ticked the budget friendly and wedding-appropriate boxes, so of course I snapped it up!

Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock, SPF 70
Would you believe it – SPF 70 sunblock! Even better to see it was a reasonable price of $21. Since my purchase was made I have continuously used this fantastic product. I like the fact that this sun block is non greasy, unlike many others. This sunblock also comes in a spray can making it easy to apply all over your body, super quickly. I swear this sunblock has saved me a million times from getting burnt over the past few weeks. I don’t think I will be getting rid of this sunblock in a hurry, it’s great!

, $65 on sale from Neelear Nomad
On sale as in 50% off! My only purchase this month wa s going to be my awesome new car battery (can you hear the sarcasm?), but how could I say no?! I have admired this bag for many moons and when I got the email from Neelear Nomad stating they were having an (amazing) outlet sale this weekend (February 28 – March 1) with 40-60% off everything, I pictured myself with my new bag in hand and a rather large smile on my face. If you want to take advantage of this amazing offer head along to Neelear Nomad, Level 1, Apollo Tri Centre, 29 Apollo Drive, North Shore City this weekend or, if you are not in Auckland email info@neelearnomad.co.nz for their special ‘Out of Town’ offer so you can nab some fab goodies!
