Check out Decortica’s stunning new album!
Talented New Zealand trio Decortica have just released their third album, 11811, and I have spent the last few days bathing in aural bliss. 11811 is a bit heavier than their previous albums, but is just as intense and fricken awesome – I am really looking forward to rocking out to this over summer!
Decortica is an alternative rock/progressive rock act from New Zealand whose music is reminiscent of Deftones and early Soundgarden. Trust me, they’re amazing. Pop over to their website to have a listen to 11811 and see for yourself!
You can buy your digital copy of the album via the links on their website or on iTunes NZ; or get the CD through amplifier.co.nz and JB Hi-Fi
If you want to check out a live show, they’re touring with Cairo Knife Fight next month – head along to Dux Live in Christchurch on 22 November, Mighty Mighty in Wellington on 23 November, or Thirsty Dog in Auckland on 24 November .
I’d love to know what your favourite Decortica song is (either from 11811 or their previous albums). My fave on this album is Asterisms, and my all time favourite is The Grid from Decortica’s first album, A New Aesthetic.
