Trend Alert: Bright Accents

We love this season’s crisp whites, nude beiges and shades of grey, but we also love the new season colour! nzgirl takes a look at the art of the accent, using some of our favourite neutral pieces as bases for fun, on trend looks!

Beach Girl
Beach girl style is surprisingly not limited to just beaches anymore! That easy breezy beach inspired look is making a big impact in street wear this season. The super simple nzgirl
caftan in soft cotton is the summer neutral that makes this look work. We played with shades of sea worthy blues and greens to lift the crisp white.

Office Friendly

It used to be that beige on beige was the uniform of the office worker, but these days office fashions are as diverse as the people that wear them! If designers have their way this season you will be wearing something at least a little beige to work, but why not pair it back with reds and corals; the perfect splash of spice to melt creamy beige shades.

Shop Girl
Grey is probably not your first colour choice for a day out with the girls or a coffee date with someone special. But forget for a moment all that talk of grey being bleak and boring! After all some of the most famous style mavens existed in the day of the silver screen and despite how colorful their gowns may have been in real life, we saw them in shades of grey and loved them anyway! Do grey right this season and lift it with a warm colour, we suggest yellow.

Warm Silver
It’s party appropriate, but can also be styled with denims for weekends. With so much of it around this season you cannot escape silver as a building block for your wardrobe. No matter the look, silver is going to be a safe neutral choice this season. However for those who just see it as ice-cold steel, pair it with pink and see what happens…
