Have you been watching America’s Next Top Model? We have, and we just love contestant Heather Kuzmich. We were lucky enough to score an interview with Heather to find out all her top modelling and beauty tips, as well as all the juicy ANTM goss!
All About Modelling Why did you decide to enter this competition? Everyone I knew (and some people I didn't) said I should enter, and I thought, 'What the heck?! It looks fun, plus I always wanted to see if I'd like modelling.' Honestly, I didn't expect to get so far. You were picked from thousands to be on this show - do you have any advice for standing out in a crowd?
Be yourself and not what everyone thinks is cool - your likes and ideals make you different. As for someone who did get picked out of thousands... I'm still baffled by how I did it since I'm such a shy person when you first meet me. Do you have any advice for any nzgirls who are thinking of getting into modelling? Don't take it too seriously because it will burn you out. Remember, you can get a thousand 'no’s' but all you need is one 'yes.' Being such an intense competition, was there any bitchiness behind the scenes?
Yeah, but it was no different than the bitchiness you would have with sisters. There was just a lot of, "Who the hell left out what ever is growing mold in this cup?!" and "Which one of you ate my fruit pops?!”
Beauty Tips and Music Bytes What song do you put on before you go out to get you in a good mood? ‘Miserlou’ by Dick Dale or ‘Pump it’ by the Black Eyed Peas. What’s in your handbag right now? My keys, Softlips, my wallet, some GoSmile (they’re like mini portable toothbrushes with whitening), my cell phone and a PSP slim for whenever I have to wait for long periods of time. What are your top five beauty tips? 1: If you wear makeup DONT SLEEP IN YOUR MAKEUP. I was blessed with low maintenance skin; it takes a lot to get it to break out. But even then, if I forget to take off my makeup, I look like I’ve wiped my face with fried chicken the night before. 2: When putting on moisturiser (before makeup), massage it in the same direction where winkles form (for example, from the corner of your nose and down in the little dent that is your smile line), and anything is good as long as it has a decent SPF. Also, use your ring finger to gently tap on eye cream, without pulling the skin. 3: If you have long hair and don't want any split ends, use a wide tooth comb right after the shower and then a paddle brush for styling partly dry. Over brushing will cause split ends. Try not to touch your hair too much with your fingers - your hands have oil on them and it will screw your style up if you constantly touch it. 4: Always get plenty of sleep and eat healthy - there's a reason people say you look awful when you get sick. 5: Walk more, not only is it good for you and your wallet, but you also get vitamin D that your body makes from sunshine. Lastly, why should we be watching ANTM? Because it's fun to watch of course! Anya Merryfield .jpg)
