About You
Place to be: The Queenstown Winter Festival

This winter there is only one place to be, and be seen - the Queenstown Winter Festival!

This mammoth 10-day frenzy of fun celebrates winter in all its glory - with a decadent array of concerts, ball, competitions, races, fireworks, bands, comedy, debates, food, wine, and much, much more! If this sounds like you, click here to find out how you could win a glam trip to the festival for you and three friends!

Running from June 27 to July 6, and with more than 60 awesome events to choose from, it'll be hard to figure out exactly what to do and when. So, nzgirl to the rescue! Thanks to Lindauer we've come up with the ultimate Winter Festival itinerary plan - filled with all the best bits that you just can't miss!

Day One - Friday, June 27
WHAT: American Express Opening Party and Fireworks
WHEN: 5.30pm
WHERE: Earnslaw Park
Start your Winter Festival experience off with a huge bang at the opening party. Set in the gorgeous Wakatipu Basin, surrounded by massive mountains, you'll be able to check out the amazing fireworks display in surround sound! You'll find yourself treated to a range of yummy al fresco stalls and mulled wine, great live acts, and as it gets later into the night, funky live party music!.

Day Two - Saturday, June 28
WHAT: American Express Jazz Night
WHEN: 6.30pm
WHERE: Skyline Gondola, Restaurant and Luge
Jazz Night has been a popular Festival tradition for years - and this year's event looks set to be better than ever! With a stellar line-up that includes the gorgie Hollie Smith, Katchafire, Tahuna Brakes and Anna Whitaker, this is set to be one smooth and sexy night out.

Day Three - Sunday, June 29
WHAT: Day on the Bay
WHEN: 12.00pm
WHERE: Earnslaw Park
No visit to the Winter Festival is complete without checking out the Day on the Bay! This is where all the fun happens - the brave (or is that crazy?) ditch their clothes and jump into the lake! We're not saying that you have to go for a dip yourself, but you have to head along for some serious laughs! After all, where else do people willingly throw themselves into freezing water in the middle of winter?!

Day Four - Monday, June 30
WHAT: Great Comedy Debate
WHEN: 7.30pm
WHERE: Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion
For a night of crazy laughs head along to the Great Comedy Debate. There's no boring over-analysed, detailed research and yaw-worthy discussion in this debate though. This is all about low blows, wicked irony and stinging satire - with each team made up of some of the countries funniest comedians, you can expect this to be a hilarious night.

Day Five - Tuesday, July 1
WHAT: Lindauer Late Laughs
WHEN: 9.00pm
WHERE: Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion
The three person laughter machine that is Ewen Gilmour, Irene Pink and Dai Henwood will be taking full advantage of their late night spot to transform the Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion into a big-city comedy club. Anything goes with these three, so be prepared for a hilarious night!

WHAT: Invitational Ski Race
WHEN: 12.00pm
WHERE: Coronet Peak
Check out some of New Zealand's finest ski racers blast down the Coronet course against the clock. This amazing spectacle is free to watch, and you can even do a bit of celeb spotting, as a few try their hand at the high speed challenge too.

Day Six - Wednesday, July 2
WHAT: Battle of the Sexes
WHEN: 7.00pm
WHERE: Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion
Embrace your girlpower and pay a visit to the Battle of the Sexes. Jeremy Corbett's popular radio contest goes live and takes to the stage for a hilarious night of laughs and wit, as the guys and girls go for it to see who comes out tops... Head along to show your nzgirl prowress!

Day Seven - Thursday, July 3
WHAT: Ladies who Lunch
WHEN: 12.15pm
WHERE: Kawarau Falls
Lunch with the girls - what's more fun than that?! Add in two of the most sought-after entertainers on the New Zealand speaking circuit, Larry Summerville and Sarah Porter (the winners of the 'Best Place to Work' award for More FM in 2004) and you've got an event that's not to be missed! Good food and loads of laughs - what's not to love?!

NZGIRL PICK!
Day Eight - Friday, July 4

WHAT: Lindauer Ball - Puttin' on the Ritz
WHEN: 7.00pm
WHERE:
Millennium Hotel
Create some Lindauer moments to remember by getting your frock on for this glitzy ball! The Lindauer Ballroom will look amazing with lots of gold and glitz - you'll literally feel as though you're stepping into a 1920s time capsule. Get ready for a night of indulgence and decadence Ritz style; with a sumptuous banquet and world class entertainment. Frankie Stevens and Jackie Clarke will be some of the big names headlining this cabaret style extravaganza. This is your
