We can’t get enough of travel, whether it’s talking about our last big trip or planning for the next one! Since our theme this month revolves around far flung places it seemed only right our challenges should help you catch the travel bug.
TAME
Pop into somewhere like STA Travel and grab a heap of brochures. Using them as a starting point, spend an afternoon browsing the internet, researching where you’d like to go.
Write a list of all the places in the world you want to visit. Even better, create a collage using cut out pictures and pin it somewhere prominent. It’ll be great motivation to turn your travel dreams into reality.
INTERMEDIATE
Don’t have a passport? Get one! You never know when you’re going to get whisked away on the spur of the moment or win a competition and have to leave the next day. Getting a passport may sound simple, but enduring the photo taking (ugh - not fun!) is what puts this task into the intermediate category.
Keep in touch with friends and family overseas. Add your cousins as friends on Facebook, write to your great aunty and send your friends gifts on their birthdays. There is an ulterior motive here, you never know when you’ll be in their town or city and need a place to crash!
CHALLENGING
Explore your region. I’ve never been to Mount Maunganui, which always draws a shocked reaction from anyone I tell. Make it your mission to find somewhere within two hours drive of your home and head out for a day trip. Explore a new area, discover a funky café and lax out away from home.
Set up a travel savings fund. Your travel dreams won’t become a reality without some serious cash! Start a direct debit and squirrel away what you can for your next trip, whether it’s a mid-winter tropical island escape or a long term OE.
