Is it really the same with a boyfriend? Single people have more fun in foreign countries because they are more accessible. As a single traveller you will meet more interesting strangers. 9. Dodgy washing day undies - you can wear ‘em any time!10. Girls’ nights out. Ever noticed how the taken ones aren’t quite so enthusiastic on the town? 11. Jealousy. It’s a near-unavoidable part of coupledom - and it is such an energy sapper. 12. Being a slob, if you feel like it. Leaving dirty dishes in your room and watching TV all weekend long. Again, who’s judging (apart from your flatmates!) 13. Spending as long as you like in the shower/ on the toilet/ having a long bath/ plucking your eyebrows. 14. Choosing the movie you want to see, every time! 15. Takeouts for dinner all week and a new dress for every weekend. It’s your money; why be sensible? 16. Being able to have a good cry without anyone asking what is wrong. Sometimes a girl just needs to bawl! 17. Living with flatmates. Even if you live with them as a couple, it is never quite the same experience as being an independent person who has moved in with total strangers. 18. Individuality. Just knowing that you don’t come as part of a set. 19. Controlling the remote. Surf as you please! 20. Being spontaneous. Taking off for a weekend of bungee jumping or sky diving. Going straight into town after work. No need to consult anyone else, just do it! 21. Developing better friendships. When you are a couple, your boyfriend comes first and your friends will always be left behind. 22. Secret hobbies that you practice it in your room. No one needs to know that you knit. 23. Cyber flirting. Joining an internet dating site and fielding emails from all sorts - be they for entertainment or to find someone, it’s all a bit of fun. 24. Walking around naked and not needing to worry about looking hot. Let that stomach hang out! 25. The single friend is the one who often gets invited along when the couple friends want to… experiment. Which can all be chalked up to the ‘wild experiences of my youth’ category, to be dwelled upon in later life. 26. Putting on winter fat - your body knows what it’s doing. You will feel warmer, and with all those layers on, no one need be the wiser. 27. Spending as long as you want getting ready in front of the mirror. 28. Not having to share the bed. There is nothing better than spreading out on a weekend morning, and being able to hog the duvet all winter long And last but not least… 29. To truly figure out who you are, you need to have some alone time. That is what meditation is all about. One day you will be attached - so enjoy it while you can! Camille
