The nzgirl team have been busy making the most of the summer sales. We've got an eclectic mix of goodies this month, from the perfect denim shorts to chocolate cherry fragrance, check it out here...
Gemma, Editor: Just Jeans Shorts I’m so in love with my new denim shorts from Just Jeans that I literally have to make an effort to not wear them every day. They match with everything in my wardrobe and are easy to dress up or down with either wedges or flats. The style is super comfy as well, as they’re not too short but still expose a bit of leg. I got them on sale for a measly $29.90 and they really are my favourite purchase of the whole summer.
Anya, Fashion & Beauty Editor: Demeter Fragrance Minis
It’s no secret that I have a bit of a perfume obsession, so when Felicity suggested a group order from Demeter i jumped at the chance. The company is famous for their single note fragrances covering everything from Dirt to Pina Colada. They are great to wear by themselves, layered together or worn with other scents. I’m now the owner of minis in Chocolate Chip Cookie, Chocolate Covered Cherries, Brownie, Raspberry Jam, Popcorn, Hot Toddy, French Toast, Under The Sheets, Laundromat, Fig Leaf, Bonfire, Thunderstorm and Rain to add to the full size bottles of Pruning Sheers and Honey I already own. Demeter Fragrance Minis, US $5.00 each.
Bonnie, Business Development Manager: Retro Life Saver Random I know. There is method to my madness! We are in the throws of doing up our house at the moment and I’ve had a vision… because we are close to the beach I wanted to include a few outdoor feature pieces that say ‘beach bach’. My boyfriend is going to restore it, paint it white and then we are going to hang it outside. It’ll look cool… I hope. Retro Life Preserver, $15.00 from a second hand store. Amber, General Manager: RPM SingletWhile in Gisborne for New Year’s I found a great clothing store called Kingpin. I really shouldn’t have been shopping with the wedding coming up and the money flooding out the door, but two singlet’s caught my eye, and surely it’s justified to want fabulous singlet’s for the summer season! I brought a great Insight singlet and this one from RPM called the ‘Kiwi Hearts Print’. It’s a racer back with a very flattering cut, and I have worn it over and over again. Ramarea, Sub-Editor: Panda Keds I have a completely random obsession with pandas. I just can’t help myself – anytime I see something with the tubby little black and white bear, I fall in love. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found these wacky, but totally cute Panda shoes! Although they are completely crazy, I love them – they are so comfy, they go with anything and they make me smile whenever I look at them! I found them while on holiday in Perth and I’m convinced it was fate that brought us together. Best of all they were on sale from $60.00 to $40.00! Sarah, Art Director: Sabun Soap I have very dry and sensitive skin, and at times soap can be very harsh. I decided to look for a more natural soap replacement and was recommended Sabun. It’s made from olive oil and laurel oil (oil of bay laurel berry), which is great! No chemicals or perfumes. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's so kind to my skin - it feels so moisturised and smooth. It also has a very pleasant herbal smell. I definitely recommend it for those who have eczema or really dry skin as it has worked wonders for me! Click here for more info and a list of stockists. Sabun Soap $7.50, The Herbal Health Centre. Vicky, Account Manager: Kookai Singlet January sales really are the icing on the cake and a great start to a new year. My prize find this month was this top from Kookai. It's made from gorgeous fabric – so light for the warmer months, a complimenting colour and the fit is perfect. Paired with a cute pair of white or cream shorts for summer, it’s great for all occasions, from office wear to BBQ’s or even a night out in town. And with 50% off, it was at the can’t complain price of $50!
