It’s Friday which means cocktail-o’clock is fast  approaching! Check out this tasty treat you can re-create for yourself at home, just in time for the weekend...
This week we visited Deschler's Bar in Auckland, where we were treated to a delicious Breakfast Martini.
Nestled along High Street, Deschler's has gained a reputation as one of Auckland’s premier jazz and cocktail venues. Remember to keep an eye out for Deschler’s new and improved Cocktail menu, which will combine traditional favourites like the ‘Lush Kiss’ and ‘Chocolate Monkey’, with new and exciting concoctions!
This week our bartender Sam whipped us up this ‘Breakfast Martini’, a deliciously sharp and crisp, lemon cocktail perfect for hot summer evenings (and mornings for those who are game enough!).

Breakfast Martini
Ingredients
30mls Lemon Z
30mls Christie’s New Zealand Crisp Gin
5mls Vermouth
Tip Vermouth into a cocktail glassFill mixing glass with ice and add Lemon Z and Christie’s.Stir (unlike shaking, this doesn’t bruise the alcohol).Once Vermouth has sat in the glass for a few minutes, tip it out (the point is to only rinse the glass).Strain the mixture into the cocktail glass.Garnish with a lemon wedge.Enjoy the crisp taste of summer sophistication!
