Take one part McDreamy (mmmmm), mix him with a dose of  fairytale escapism, combine that with a delicious sense of irony and you have all the ingredients for the perfect pre-Christmas film.
Escape the shopping mall madness, grab your best friend and kick back to enjoy Enchanted.
Enchanted is a classic Disney fairytale for grownups, which stars the sexy Patrick Dempsey along with Amy Adams and Susan Sarandon.
Set in modern-day New York, the film tells the story of a princess (Amy Adams) from the animated world who is thrust into live action present-day by an evil queen (played by the fabulous Susan Sarandon).
Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love when she meets a handsome lawyer (Patrick Dempsey). Can her storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
Described as sophisticated and subversive, this film goes far beyond the piece of Disney fluff it may appear to be on the surface.
Delving into all the usual fairy tale clichés, it works to poke fun at them for your entertainment pleasure, while at the same time delivering a cast of characters you really will find yourself rooting for (especially Pip the chipmunk… he was just too funny!).
I can’t recommend this film enough - it’s definitely just the tonic for dealing to a tired-end-of-year-brain!
