Do you love spending Sundays browsing your local art gallery? Come Saturday night are you often in the audience for a new play? Do you challenge your mind with movies that fall outside the mainstream?

If you like to stretch your cultural muscles and you're always on the lookout for new and cool forms of expression then this is the place to come...

95bfm Brand Art Campaign Exhibition
This special art exhibition at Auckland’s Rakinos café
features
a retrospective of exclusively-commissioned works by radio station 95bFM.

Twelve artists and designers were asked to create pieces, which offered an answer to the question: “What does 95bFM mean?". Instead of promoting 95bFM with the usual branded advertising, they used the the creations.

The individual artworks were published on street posters,
postcards and magazine pages. With one piece released each month during the year.

The exhibition includes works from Ruban Nielson (Mint Chicks), Bradley Fafejta Harris, Alan Holt, Stella Corkery (Saturday Shop), Jack Brougham, Peter Heckman, Vincent (Teenwolf/Brand New Math), Matt Henry, the Demiwhores’ Ed Gains and MF Joyce, Henrietta Shields, and Damon Belchalmers.

WHAT: 95bfm Brand Art Campaign Exhibition
WHERE: RAKINOS, Level 1, 35 High Street, Auckland City
WHEN: from December 18th, 2007

Limited edition prints will be available for sale, and the exhibition will be followed by the release of a 2008 calendar of all works on show.

Janet Frame House
Nov 1, 07 - Apr 30, 08, 56 Eden Street, Oamaru

Visit the house where our very own inspiring nzgirl lived. Janet Frame spent 1931-1943 in this Oamaru house, and incorporated it into her first novel Owls Do Cry. Lectures and creative writing workshops are held in the house. "I wanted an imagination that would inhabit a world of fact, descend like a shining light upon the ordinary life of Eden Street ... the world of Oamaru, the kingdom by the sea." To The Is-Land, Janet Frame. Click here for more info.
