What website are you loving right now? We ask around the office for the nzgirl teams' favourite sites (other than nzgirl, of course!)
Sheena, Store Manager: Trademe Trademe! Who are we kidding folks – I mean come on you can find practically EVERYTHING you could ever want on this site, plus there's the added bonus of being able to sell your own unwanted goods. It’s cheap, easy to navigate and loads of fun!
Anya, Fashion & Beauty Editor: notcot notcot is all about cool and trend hunting, giving a daily account of what’s hot in the world of design and fashion. But really I love it as it gives me a daily dose of all that is fun and interesting. The main site acts as a parent site for other notcot ideas – amongst them is notcouture (trend hunting in the fashion realm) and taste spotting (trend hunting for the tastebuds). It’s a great site for those who love pretty stuff or need a little inspiration – and it’s the first thing I check when I get to my computer in the morning.
Jenene, Managing Director: Asos That’s way too unfair a question - I’m totally in love with the new nzgirl! But if I have to pick something else, I would say www.asos.com – I’m constantly amazed by how quickly they can get garments from idea to sell and there are so many excellent, well priced options. Amber, Marketing Manager: Pink is the New Blog I can’t lie, I am addicted to trashy celebrity gossip and www.pinkisthenewblog.com is the ultimate source. I sneak on every other day to keep up-to-date and convince myself it’s all in the name of ‘work’…we need to keep abreast of the international to-ings and fro-ings right?
Sarah, Art Director: PopUp I am addicted to www.popup.co.nz at the moment. It is the website for the Popup Gallery in Wellington. It features international artists and exhibitions, an online store with art and designer toys and much more! I am signed up to their newsletter and I get little animated treasures in my email inbox every now and again to brighten my day. I spend most of my time drooling over vinyl toys and artwork I can’t afford!
Gemma, Editor: Facebook For ages I wasn’t interested in social networking sites and thought they were a waste of time, but then I joined Facebook and now I’m an addict! It’s such a great way to catch up with old friends and find out what people are up to these days. I also find it very handy for storing photos and easily sharing them with my friends… although I need to tell one particular mate to stop putting unflattering pictures of me up on her page!
Eve, Sub-editor: STA Travel’s Round the World Trip Planner I’m loving the Round the World Trip Planner feature on STA’s website. It’s a great way to figure out a trip around the world and me and my bestie have been having heaps of fun exploring all the different options and trips we can take when we head off on our OE. You just click your way around the world map to choose your flights, and can even get a quote update as you go. The prefect tool for anyone embarking on a trip overseas!
