Challenges for July

This month’s theme is focused on lifting you out of your mid-winter slump and making you feel great about yourself, so we’ve continued the idea into July’s challenges…

TAME

  • Take part in our Feel Good Challenge. Get yourself off the couch and follow the fantastic nutrition and exercise advice compiled by our talented writers. We guarantee you’ll feel better for it.
  • Say something nice about yourself every day. Instead of staring into the mirror before you go to work and looking despondently at yourself, pick up
on a positive point and tell yourself something along the lines of “Wow, my legs look fantastic and long in these boots”. Carry that thought with you for the rest of the day.

    INTERMEDIATE
  • Start an exercise group. Gather together some of
your friends who live locally and organise a weekly walk date. An hour or two will pass without you noticing if you’re busy exchanging gossip and catching up on each other's news, plus you can all keep each other accountable for turning up.

  • Treat yourself to new workout shoes. If you’re like me, heels take precedent over training shoes, but if you’re serious about your fitness then you need to be looking after your feet. Set aside some cash and
invest in some shoes that will really give you the support you need, your body will thank you for it!

    CHALLENGING
  • Set a big goal to work towards. Do you laugh at the thought of running a half marathon or competing in a duathlon? Why? You’re every bit as capable as the next person of completing a major fitness goal, it’s just a matter of motivating yourself. See what you can achieve when you set your sights high.

  • Give your pantry an overhaul. Go through and throw away any old food and organise what’s left so
you can easily find ingredients when you’re cooking. Healthy Food Guide’s July issue has some great pantry organising tips, so it’s well worth checking out or head to their website where you can download a Healthy Pantry Checklist.
