For the first time ever the MTV Australia Video Music Awards will include a New Zealand Viewer's Choice Award honouring the best in kiwi music. Viewer submissions commence on Thursday March 1 and close Saturday April 28. MTV viewers can submit their favourite kiwi artist by logging on to mtv.co.nz and clicking to the AVMA Viewer's Choice page and these entries will be used to determine the winner.
International guests include Jared Leto performing with his band ’30 Seconds From Mars’ and Laguna Beach’s Kristin Cavellieri will make a special appearance. Justin Timberlake tops the nominations in a staggering six categories.
The Awards show, now in its third year, will be held on April 29 at Sydney’s Acer Arena and will broadcast in New Zealand on MTV, Sky Digital Channel 60 on Friday May 4 at 7.30pm.
Dancing with the Stars coming soon Ladies, dust off your frocks; men, press your tails… Crimp, curl, polish and shine… it’s that time of year again. Get ready for the thrills and spills, the glitz and the glamour of Dancing with the Stars, returning soon to TV1.
Dancing with the Stars was the highest rating series in both 2005 and 2006, with an average of 804,000 people watching each episode in 2006, and both series' finals watched by almost one million people.
The stars are shining brighter than ever in the ballroom this year, with the line-up of Frank Bunce, Paul Holmes, April Ieremia, Suzanne Paul, Brendon Pongia, Greer Robson, Michael Laws and Megan Alatini. The competition will be as fierce as usual. With each celebrity dancing for their chosen charity, the longer they stay in the show, the more money they raise from viewer phone and text voting.
The show is again presented by Jason Gunn, and co-hosted by Candy Lane.
