Our theme for February is passion, so we’ve designed our challenges to help you find things in life to be more passionate about…
TAME
Instead of focusing on the fake commercial mushiness of Valentine’s Day take the time to show your friends and family you care. Go all primary school and make some Valentine cards for your nearest and dearest or whip up some cupcakes, decorate them with pink icing and love hearts and deliver them to your best friend.
Change your shampoo. It can be amazing how different your hair feels when you switch to a new shampoo and conditioner. If you’ve been using the same variety for ages try something new and see if you like the results… you might just be surprised!
INTERMEDIATE
Grow some herbs. The health benefits of fresh herbs are well documented and they’re the perfect way to take an average dinner and make it something special. You don’t need a big garden, just get a planter box for your kitchen windowsill and get growing. Basil, mint and parsley are all great starters.
Give up “x” for the next two weeks and donate the money to charity. Whether it’s going without your morning coffee, cutting out takeaways or not buying wine for two weeks, try a small sacrifice so you can give something back to the world. You might also find you ditch a bad habit at the same time!
CHALLENGING
Learn to play an instrument. Even if you don’t think you have a musical bone in your body it’s a great way to stimulate your mind and challenge yourself. You don’t need to take on something daunting like the trombone… just get an acoustic guitar and learn a few chords.
Redecorate your room. Summer is a great time to buy some paint and get creative (the hot weather sure helps it dry fast!), but even if changing the walls isn’t an option, look at ways to update your furniture, change your bedding and window coverings and reorganise your closet. The results will be hugely satisfying.
