For many, the New Year is considered a fresh, new beginning so this month’s challenges are all about starting 2007 on the right foot…
TAME
Do a detox: The holiday season is all about celebration, which often means having way too much to eat and drink! Give your body the perfect start to 2007 by cutting out processed foods and alcohol, and consuming plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and water instead.
Start a skincare regime: Neglect your skin now and you will live to regret it further down the track. If you don’t already have a skincare regime that incorporates a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and eye-cream, then now is the ideal time to get one! And don’t forget to apply sunscreen, even on cloudy days!
INTERMEDIATE
Get a full-medical: Do you have some moles you’ve been meaning to check? Are you overdue for a cervical smear? Is it possible that you suffer from low-iron, high-cholesterol or low-blood sugar levels? Start the year off with peace of mind by visiting your doctor for a complete once-over. You can’t put a price on your health.
Get a bra-fitting: According to Oprah Winfrey, eight out of 10 women are wearing the wrong sized bra! Not only is this uncomfortable and unflattering but it can also cause long-term damage to your breasts. Swallow your pride and visit a lingerie shop that offers in-store bra fittings. It is well worth it!
CHALLENGING
Set some goals: The best way to get the most out of 2007 is to set some goals for the year, such as ‘get a promotion at work’, ‘get my driver’s licence’ or ‘learn to play the guitar’. Put the list somewhere you can see it so it can inspire you, and take pleasure in crossing things off as you go!
End a grudge: Most people have an old friend they have fallen out with and no longer speak to. And while they may be too proud to admit it, I’m sure many of these people wish they could rebuild their friendship. Why not make it your New Year's resolution to attempt to end any old grudges you may have? While your former-friend may not be open to the suggestion, at least you will know you are a bigger person because you tried.
