This month we’re celebrating New Beginnings so our challenges are designed to help you get a fresh start...
TAME
Plan your weekend. Nobody wants to diary in their weekends but there is some good logic behind it. Writing down a specific list of what you need to do over the weekend and when you’re going to do it means when you’re enjoying your free time there isn’t that nagging feeling in your stomach (you know the one you get when there's something you've forgotten to do?).
Check which bank is best for you.Euww I know this doesn’t exactly sound like the best way to spend your spare time but making sure you are getting the best deal at your bank can save you hundreds of dollars a year and everybody loves having money! The internet is your friend, so before you wear out your shoes, hit up the websites of the different banks to see what's on offer and don't be afraid to call up and ask questions.
INTERMEDIATE
Detox. If you’re after a new beginning a detox is a great place to start. Set a weekend aside to give your body a well earned break. (Try not to pick the weekend of someone’s 21st or a big event though, that might be rough!). There are all sorts of ways you can do this, extreme versions will have you cutting out everything but vegetables and fruit, but it could be as simple as taking a long walk, drinking lots of water and cutting out caffeine for a few days.
Start a new habit Old habits can be really hard to kick so why not replace it with a better one? Figure out what it is that you really wish that you would stop doing, work out when it is you do it and then think of a fun new habit to replace it with.
Have A Party. Celebrate where your life is at. What's the point of working hard, being disciplined and making big decisions if you don’t congratulate yourself for it? Don’t let your birthday, anniversary, a pay rise or hell even a good bottle of wine go to waste, call up your friends and celebrate!
CHALLENGING
Know Your World. Choose one country that seems to be in the news a lot (Israel, Afghanistan, Ireland) and make a concerted effort to figure out exactly what everyone is fighting about. Don’t worry, the research doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, there are some great movies on these subjects (including titles with the likes of Brad Pitt, George Clooney and other hotties) that will help keep you interested.
Forgive Someone. Being angry, upset or not over someone takes up valuable brain space which could be put to much better use. Write down every reason you're angry at someone till you can write no more. Then grab your best friend, a bottle of wine and burn the letter. POOF! Watch all that anger disappear.
