Help the animals

Help the animals at the Auckland SPCA this Christmas…

Year after year, the SPCA rescues animals that have been mistreated or literally dumped on their doorstep.

The SPCA not only cares for and finds homes for these animals, they also heal animals that have suffered the most horrific torture and bring them back to the standard of living that they deserve.

Each year, the staff deal with despicable acts of cruelty against animals and this year was no exception:

The SPCA had to clean up the remains of a cat that had been microwaved to death in South Auckland, rescue a North Shore cat that had been repeatedly thrown off a wharf and heal a German Shepard pup that had been beaten so badly that she required surgical care normally only required for animals that have been struck by cars.

These are just some of the 15,000 animals that the Auckland SPCA has helped this year. Yet, the SPCA receives no government funding and is therefore completely dependant on the support of compassionate animal lovers.

The Christmas period is also kitten season, so the SPCA is about to be inundated with thousands of kittens that need to be cared for.

As nzgirls, we need to show we care!
Please click here to support the SPCA this Christmas or call 0900 997 722 on your landline or mobile* to automatically donate $10 and help make Christmas a little happier for the animals this year.

For further info and other ways that you can help - including adopting something cute and fluffy, check out www.spca.org.nz

*This mobile phone donation service is not available to Vodafone Prepay or Telecom Prepaid customers.
