Kelis was touring alongside Missy and Talib Kweli on the tour that was to begin in late June and encompass UK and Europe through to Australia and New Zealand. However, due to production reasons associated with Missy Elliott’s performance, the tour could not go ahead and the global run of dates for Kelis were affected, including her highly anticipated NZ debut scheduled for this Friday at St James Complex.
Speculation late last week was rife that the Australian and New Zealand dates were going to be reviewed, however management were dedicated to making sure the shows went ahead in light of the fantastic support New Zealand and Australian fans have shown via fantastic record sales and tickets for the upcoming performance.
KELIS is extremely excited about her very first show in NZ and is committed to completing a heavy schedule of interviews to ensure audiences are as ready as possible for her acclaimed live show.
The New Zealand show has been moved ahead two weeks. She will now play at Auckland St James Complex on July 24. All existing purchased event tickets will be valid for this new date.
Support line for the Auckland show has also just been announced. Kelis will perform with her 6 piece band alongside special local guests Slave and Ladi 6.
Now with 2 extra weeks of tickets sales there is no question that one of the most hyped and talked about NZ appearances for years is guaranteed to be a sell out for sure. If you were thinking that it would be safe to leave it to the last minute to get your tickets to one of the hottest stars on the planet, think again.
