There has been American Idol, Australian Idol and it’s just been announced that NZ Idol is on its way.
If you faithfully tuned in to American or Australian Idol and thought, "I could do that", here's your chance!
TV2 and South Pacific pictures are going to be in charge of bringing all the action from NZ Idol to our television screens early next year.
General Manager of Commissioning and Production for TVNZ, Tony Holden says NZ Idol will help stimulate entertainers and is a fantastic way to support the local music industry.
"The Idols brand is an extremely popular one and what New Zealand aims to do is really drive home the fact this show is about New Zealanders and made for New Zealanders. It is all about you and your community."
At the moment, South Pacific Pictures are going through the motions of selecting the judges and finding a team suitable to bring NZ Idol to our TV screens.
