They may be called Big Brovaz, and the group’s members do actually share a house together in south London, but that’s where the similarities between this new UK R&B group and the similarly named TV2 show end.
Comprised of three girls and three boys in their early 20s, Big Brovaz unique theatrical fusion of hip hop and R&B is set to make them one of the most original UK R&B groups yet.
The album is called ‘Nu Flow’, which is also the title of their first hit song.
‘Nu Flow’ kicks off the album, a very inviting and playful opening track which gave me the motivation to keep on listening.
Other outstanding tracks included the oh so smooth and funky ‘OK’ and ‘Don’t Matter.’
The ballad track, ‘Baby Boy’ is an absolute winner as the tightly harmonised and arranged vocals of the three girls combines so sweetly with the guys powerful and astute rapping.
The result is a totally new and original sound.
‘Nu Flow’ has a wicked track listing. This album cannot bore you as the songs are cheeky, original, clever, and very creative. You never know what to expect next.
Big Brovaz cannot be typecast, nor can they be fitted into any existing hip hop/R&B category. This album is not just rap, nor is it just R&B or funk. It is all of the above plus a little bit of rock, latin, jazz and everything else mixed together, resulting in this outstandingly crazy and unique little gem.
