Using scarves and bandannas to update and add a pop of colour to an outfit is fun, stylish and incredibly easy to pull off... With the annual CanTeen Bandanna Challenge in full swing we thought it was the perfect time to share some of our favourite designs from this year's selection, including our fave ways to style and wear each one. Read on for inspiration and make sure you head to CanTeen online to purchase your favourite bandanna for a mere $5 to show your support for young people living with cancer.
Waist it Add your favourite CanTeen scarf to your waist (like Paul Smith as featured below) or hiplipe to add an unique pop of colour to a neutral coloured ensemble. The CanTeen scarves unfortunately won’t fit around most waists, but they do look super cute tied to your belt loops or adorning a belt cinched at the waist.
Featured CanTeen Bandanna: 'Circle of Friends' designed by CanTeen sibling member Grant Hawthorne $5.00. Buy it now! Headbands are cool You’ll still the traditionally styled headband on international runways worn right over the head and tied below the chin, however you can also fold it over to form a long rectangle shape which can then be tied around the head and tied at the back - as modeled below by the lovely 19-year-old Paige Hareb and Federation's Drew Gregory.
Featured CanTeen Bandanna: 'Federation' designed by Federation clothing $5. Buy it now! Accessorise your bag Add spice to an old bag, or instantly give any bag a new lease of life, by tying a bandanna or scarf around one end of your handbag straps, or looping through the detailing. This is particularly effective on neutral or black coloured bags (like the Lulu Guinness Icon Scarf Bag featured below) to inject instant colour and a chic fashionable feel.
Featured CanTeen Bandanna: 'Doves' designed by singer / songwriter Hollie Smith $5.00. Buy it now! Neck or wrist wrap Wrapping your bandanna around the neck either with a bow or simply tied at the side (like the below scarf from Mathew Williamson) is my personal favourite look, as it's an effortless style that anyone can achieve. You can also wrap it around your wrist for a more casual-cool style.
Featured CanTeen Bandanna: 'Circle of Friends' ' designed by CanTeen sibling member Grant Hawthorne $5.00. Buy it now! There’s no right or wrong way to wear a bandanna, the key is experimentation and learning how to pair styles with the right outfit. The most important thing is that when you purchase one of CanTeen’s super stylish bandanna’s you’re supporting a great cause – so have fun with it and enjoy experimenting with this year’s hot prints!
* Aside from buying your bandanna online CanTeen bandannas can also be purchased during the two weeks of the Challenge from PAK’nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Jeanswest, BP, BK, Radius Pharmacy, Farmers, Repco, ASB and all participating schools throughout the country.
