Adidas Shadow Boxing Gloves, $130 from Ringside
I hate getting up in the morning – even if it is for my favourite boxing class at Ringside. This week however, the pain was lessened slightly by my new gloves. They’re from Adidas’ latest range and make me happy and punch even harder. All day I’ve wanted to pop them back on again and throw a few hooks. Look out world, game face firmly on.
The Hidden Park iPhone application, $8.99 from iTunes
I miss my fantasy world, I mean it was a beautiful place, all fairies and tree genies. Oh well, what can you do? It seems inappropriate for a 37-year-old to be musing about such things – but now I have an excuse. Check out the new iPhone application, The Hidden Park. The game takes children on a mystical journey through The Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, opening up a fantasy world of trolls, magical animals and monsters that the children can photograph and play with. Download it for $AU8.99 on iTunes.

Riding boots, $150 from Max
I live in flat boots – and unfortunately I lived in my last pair a little too much, as they ended up with holes in the soles! When it came to buying a replacement pair, I wanted some that were super high, brown and not too expensive (we are in a recession after all!). While actually on the hunt for some boots for one my girlfriends, I spied these knee high riding boots from Max, on sale for 50% off! I wanted these a few months back, but couldn’t quite justify the price tag – but at a bargain $150 I was sold straight away!
Angela, Support Manager Walking shoes from Kathmandu, $114
Living in Auckland we are surrounded by amazing volcanoes. Apparently you don’t have to be really fit to climb them, but it probably helps! I’ve decided to get out there amongst them – or on top of them if I’m lucky! I’m starting with Rangitoto – just a leisurely climb to the top. Apparently the views are AMAZE! Will work my way around Auckland – coastal walks etc. My plan is to work my way up and then head down to the North Island mountains, with a view to climbing Tongariro in the summertime, and then what –Taranaki after that? Wish me luck! I got these from Kathmandu, in their sale for $114. Bonnie, commercial director Long cardigan from AU$70 Sussan
I didn’t want anything too casual, that would end up looking like a well loved pet before the season is out. Although it didn’t look like much on the rack, this cardigan is totally my BEST BUY of the season. So versatile, the bone colour means I can pair it with all my casual weekend clothes as a handy ‘throw over’; then if I need an extra layer when looking smart, I put a belt over the top. Viola! Instant style and warmth. I have worn this almost EVERYDAY since I bought it.
