July Movies

July sees the release of a bunch of great movies - from thrilling blockbuster releases like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen, through to the latest hilarious flick from Sacha Baron Cohen...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The action film of the year is here! If you loved the first Transformers, you'll definitely want to check out the latest instalment. Decepticon forces have returned to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) prisoner, since he has learnt the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Optimus Prime joins him in a mission to protect humankind, forming an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle. With a steamy cast including Megan Fox and ex Home & Away-er Isabel Lucas, and state of the art graphics, this is a flick both you and your man will love. Now showing.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
This adorable flick is great watching for both you and the little people in your life. The adorable characters are all back, but life has changed. Manny and Ellie are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when the baby arrives. Bigger troubles lie ahead as Sid begins to wish for a family of his own and steals some dinosaur eggs, leading him to a strange underworld where his herd must rescue him! Now showing.

Bruno
Sacha Baron Cohen brings his newest alter ego, Bruno to the big screen. In this hilarious flick, Sacha assumes the character of gay fashionmonger Bruno, the self-proclaimed "voice of Austrian youth TV." You won't be able to keep the laughter in as Bruno highlights the absurdities of the fashion industry by interviewing unsuspecting fashion icons and other haute couture hangers-on. Love! Now showing.

Public Enemies
The delicious Johnny Depp returns to the big screen to play real life American gangster John Dillinger. Public Enemies tells the story of John and his gang of unstoppable bank robbers as they charmed the American public while stealing from the banks that plunged the country into the Depression of the 1920s. John Dillinger became America's first Public Enemy Number One - and this thrilling movie retells his story. This film is bound to get the adrenaline pumping - with both the surreal action and gorgeous Johnny Depp! Released July 30

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Harry Potter fans brace yourself - the second to last film instalment is nearly here! Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds, and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Together, Harry and Dumbledore work to brace themselves for the final battle that they know is fast approaching. At the same time, Harry and his mates are struggling with erupting teenage hormones; everyone's getting a little lusty and Harry, Ron and Hermione are no exception! Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again. A must see! Released July 15

My Life in Ruins
If you loved My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you'll love this gorgie flick. Starring Nia Vardalos, writer and star of MBFGW this uplifting comedy is all about singleton Georgia, who has lost her kefi (Greek for 'mojo'). Discouraged by her lack of direction in life, she works as a travel guide, leading a rag-tag group of tourists as she tries to show them the beauty of her native Greece while waiting to land her dream job. As she open their eyes to an exotic foreign land, she too begins to see things in new ways - finding her kefi and possibly a love in the process! Released July 16
