Tea Tini Do something a little more interesting with your vodka with this refreshing little number. If a Long Island Iced Tea seems too potent and your standard ice tea doesn’t have quite enough bite, this is one to try. Simply pour 1 ¾ oz of vodka, 10 oz sweet iced tea and a ¼ oz fresh lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake well. Strain into a cool cocktail glass rimmed with sugar and garnish with a lemon wedge. Delish!
Mojito A very popular drink, the Mojito is also quite a cheapy to make. Place 2 teaspoons of sugar, six to eight mint leaves and a little club soda into a highball glass. Muddle well to make sure you dissolve the sugar and make it nice and minty. Squeeze the juice from both halves of the lime into the glass, add the rum and stir well. Fill the glass with ice cubes, top up with club soda and garnish with a mint sprig.
Madras Refreshing and fruity, this is a delicious, easy and most importantly cheap drink to make. All you need to do is mix ½ oz of vodka with 3oz cranberry juice then top up with orange juice and you’re all done! Similarly, mix things up by swapping out the orange for grapefruit juice (a Sea Breeze) or pineapple (a Bay Breeze).
Kir Spice up a cheap bottle of wine with this yummy twist. Perfect for berry lovers, this easy little cocktail combines 1/4oz creme de cassis with 2 1/4 oz dry white wine. All you need to do is pour the crème de cassis (a blackcurrant flavoured liquor) into a wine glass and slowly add some dry white wine. More of a red kinda girl? That works fine too.
Banana Daiquiri Swapping the ever-popular strawberry for a banana, this daiquiri is a yummy and cheaper alternative. Simply put all the ingredients in the blender - 1 1/2 oz light rum, 1 Tbsp triple sec, 1 banana, 1 1/2 oz lime juice, 1 tsp sugar, 1 cup crushed ice – and blend on a low speed for a few seconds, then on a high speed until the mixture is firm. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and serve!
