About You
Wedding Album: Annemarie and Andrew

Newlyweds Annemarie and Andrew let us take a sneak peek inside their gorgie wedding album and share all the goss from their big day...

Name: Annemarie (now) Everiss
Partner’s Name: Andrew Everiss
Ages: Annemarie 23, Andrew 25

Where was the ceremony held?
Holy Trinity Church, Silverdale

Who designed your dress?
Rouzili Bridal & Formal (in Botany Downs)

Who took your photos?
Jody from i do. photography. We are so happy with our photos! Check out Jody’s website idophotgraphy.co.nz

Which is your favourite shot?
The beach shots were our favourite. The wind had picked up and worked wonders with my long veil! My favourite would have to be the one of Andy and I walking down the beach looking at each other.

How long did you spend organising the wedding?
Andrew proposed 14 months prior to our wedding date and from day one the planning began. I loved every minute of it and even considered wedding planning as a profession…

Did you decide to change your name?
Yes, I am traditional in that sense and was excited to take on my married name. I am now Mrs Everiss and being a Primary school teacher I get to hear it every day.

How did you spend the time leading up to the ceremony?
My bridesmaids stayed over on the wedding eve and we awoke to a beautiful morning. We had a very relaxing start to our day with a walk to our local café. All of our preparations were done at home with the makeup artist and hairdresser coming to us. I would highly recommend this - it made getting ready run so smoothly! We ended up running ahead of schedule which meant we could enjoy a glass of bubbles and get in some extra photos with the photographer.

What moments brought tears to your eyes?
Andy and I both wrote our own vows and when Andy read his he had tears in his eyes, which of course immediately brought tears to mine too! Happy tears of course.

Any funny moments from the reception?
All of Andy’s groomsmen are volunteer firemen and during the best man’s speech not only did he point out all the safety exits, in case of a fire, he also warned about one groomsman in particular, “should he offer you any lollies, dancing or polite conversation try to make a quick exit”. He was deemed the “Claydenator” (a play on his last name – Claydon) and our M.C made sure everyone was reminded of the weary “Claydenator” throughout the evening.

Any advice for brides to be?
Be prepared for how fast the day goes, enjoy every minute and be sure to take some time out with you and your husband to ‘be’ in the moment. Be well prepared and the day will be everything you dreamed of.

Flowers by?
Flowers by Joanne in Orewa - my new mother-in-law’s business. They were absolutely stunning and filled the church and reception.

Cake by?
After managing to hunt down a big enough cake tin Grandma made the cake and then we had it professionally iced – delicious!

Number of attendees?
103

What was your bridal car?
Ford Galaxys. Our whole bridal party could fit in one while we enjoyed the other.

Any Bridezilla moments?
None at all! I was pleasantly surprised. All of the planning paid off and everything ran really smoothly. As cheesy as it may sound I would not have changed a thing.

Furtherest travel for a guest?
A cousin travelled from Perth. We also had other guests from Australia and all around NZ.
