There’s something for everyone at the movies in June - from lavish period flicks to modern thrillers.

If you’re after a laugh, head for insult-filled rom-com The Proposal, or watch the antics of a group of best friends trying to piece together the night before in The Hangover. Don’t forget to check out the wedding comedy with a twist - I Love You, Man.

I Love You, Man

Determined for the wedding party to be complete, Peter sets out on a series of hilarious and awkward ‘man-dates’ before meeting guy pal of his dreams, Sydney Fife. Having a real best mate is a revelation for Peter, and slowly his friendship with Sydney begins to damage his relationship with Zooey in a hilarious exploration of what it means to truly be friends. Oliver Stone’s latest biopic focusses on the US President with the highest disapproval rating in recent history: George W. Bush. The film chronicles his rise to the presidency - born to a wealthy political family, he scraped through Yale, served in the military, ran an oil business, was an alcoholic, and became a born-again Christian and Governor of Texas before winning the presidency. Interspersed are scenes from shortly after 9/11, as Bush and his cabinet debate launching the War on Terror. Release date: June 4

The Proposal

But when Margaret faces deportation from America - she’s Canadian, and her visa has expired - she forces Andrew to pretend they’re engaged in order to keep her job. Things get complicated when Margaret has no choice but to embark on a family holiday with Andrew to Alaska, and the continually-sparring couple find that keeping up their ruse becomes more and more difficult - especially when Andrew’s parents throw them a surprise wedding. With baby in tow, the trio must retrace their drunken steps and piece together what happened the night before in order to find Doug and get him back to LA in time for his wedding. Release date: June 11
