1: Try a crossword

2: Eat chocolate
Yes – chocolate is good for you brain! According to CNN, preliminary research at West Virginia’s Wheeling Jesuit University suggests chocolate may boost your memory, attention span, reaction time, and problem solving skills by increasing blood flow to the brain. Of course, don’t take this as your cue to munch back a king size block a day – moderation is the key!
3: Get your laugh on
Giving your brain a workout is as easy as laughing! Laugher stimulates both sides of the brain. This makes your brain more alert and enhances your learning capabilities. You've probably noticed it’s much easier for you to get work done when you’re in a good mood, as opposed to when you’re stressed. When we laugh we release endorphins which are good for long term brain health. Laughing also helps to relieve tension and put you in a relaxed frame of mind, and can also change your perspective towards negative situations. Overall, laughter can distress you and help balance your emotions. Who knew a brain workout could be so easy – and fun!
4: Go Sudoku
Some researches believe that a Sudoku puzzle a day is one of the best non-traditional and alternative ways to boost your brain power. Soduku puzzles require the use of logic, common sense and concentration to be solved; and the more you use these skills, the better they get. Some researchers even say that Sudoku puzzles can keep brain cells from dying and encourage better brain function. Want to test the theories out for yourself?
