June Challenges

So how did you go with your June challenges - did you find a way to push yourself outside your comfort zone? Check off your challenges below and don't forget to look for a brand new bunch in July!

TAME
Give your place an early spring clean
. When you're stuck inside through winter, it's super-easy to lose motivation to keep things spick and span. Give your place a full tidy up and not only will you find heaps of things you thought you'd lost for good, you might also find it makes you feel more clear-headed and in-control in general.

Sort out your social networking trail. So you love to be the first one to jump on an online trend? There's nothing wrong with that - except when it means you're officially a fully fledged member of My Space, Bebo, Facebook, Twitter and every other social networking site you can get your hands on. Even if you no longer use your page, it'll stay active on the site, meaning anyone googling you (like a prospective employer) can see a snapshot of what you were like whenever you last used it. Eek! Get your delete on and tidy up your cyber trail Missy!

Embrace the weather. There's no fighting the fact it's winter - so embrace it! Next time there's a gale blowing outside, wrap yourself in scarves, gloves and a jacket and head to your nearest beach or park to work it out. It's the best way to blow cobwebs out of your brain and perfect if you need to let off some steam.

INTERMEDIATE
Learn to snowboard. Make the most of the winter cold by getting out and learning to snowboard! Not only is it great fun, it's a super workout that will keep you active all through the cold months, it's a hobby you can take with you around the world (think the French Alps, Canada...) and it's a great way to meet people. Most NZ skifields open this month, or you can head to an indoor ski park like Snowplanet.

Give your wardrobe an overhaul. Refresh your look and make extra space in your wardrobe by doing a complete wardrobe sort. Pull out all your clothes and start by sorting out all the pieces that are damaged - if you want to keep them, put them aside to get repaired and toss out the rest. Take out any pieces you know you definitely don't want to keep, to be donated to charity. Once you've done that, play with what's left to see if you can come up with new combinations and looks that'll make your wardrobe stretch further.

CHALLENGING
Learn a new language.
Learning a new language not only helps boost your brain power but it's a great way to get to know more about a country you'd love to travel to. Love everything to do with Spain? Take up Spanish and get excited about travelling there in the future where you can impress all the locals with your flash language skills. Check out local schools for community language classes.

Start a blog. Ever fancied yourself as a writer? Start your own blog and let the world know what you have to offer. Write about whatever you're passionate about, update it regularly and add fun images and links. Heaps of successful websites started as blogs (like PerezHilton.com) and it's an easy way to get your writing out into the world. Ready to start? Read the Blogging 101 guide here.

Set yourself a long-term financial goal. If you've ever thought about heading overseas on your big OE, buying a house or snapping up a car then make this month the time to get your plans in motion to get there! Figure out when you want to do it, how much you'll need, then calculate how much you'll need to save each week to get yourself there. Sorted.co.nz have some great calculators that make figuring it out all a little easier.
