Uber-hottie Channing Tatum has been a busy boy. He shot to fame in the dance-hit Step Up and has just about finished filming upcoming blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, plus he recently proposed to his girlfriend! Here's some more facts you never knew about him...

1. He was born on April 26, 1980, which makes him 29 at the moment.

2. He started modelling after an agent spotted him in Miami, and went on to model for Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, Dolce & Gabbana, and Emporio Armani. Despite landing several top campaigns, Channing confesses, "The truth is I didn't think I could be a model at all. I’m not pretty!" Some of us beg to disagree.

3. He made the transition from modelling to acting because he didn’t find modelling challenging enough.

4. He’s full of energy. "I've always had way too much energy so I'm always looking for new things to do," he says. "My parents couldn’t handle my energy so they enrolled me in every sport the school was offering." He played baseball, soccer, football, and participated in track and field. Whew!

5. Channing is also highly skilled in Kung Fu and in Gor-Chor Kung Fu (another form of martial arts), and has earned black belts in both.

6. When he was little, he used to spend summers with his grandparents in Alabama. He still visits them in Alabama every summer. Too sweet!

7. He reads movie scripts while in the bath. Hot.

8. In 2006, he won the Breakout Movie Star prize at the Teen Choice Awards for his role as Duke in comedy She’s the Man - which is actually based on a Shakespearean play.

9. As a child, Channing had an invisible friend.

10. Bad news, ladies – at the end of last year he proposed to his girlfriend Jenna Dewan (who also starred in Step Up) while they were holidaying in Hawaii. Romantic!
