Maeve Higgins 'Kitten Brides': In her first trip to New Zealand, Maeve’s hitting Auckland and Wellington with her own special brand of hilariousness. In keeping with her low key style, ‘Kitten Brides’ sees Maeve talking about a range of subjects in a non low-key way. The sort of things likely to come up include the feelings you get being on your own in new places, the sound of forced rhubarb, and taxidermy in Victorian times. See Ticketek for venue details and times of the Auckland show and in Wellington, bats.co.nz

12-15 May
De La Soul: 20th Anniversary Tour: The trio from Long Island formed De La Soul in the 80s, quickly etching themselves into the psyche of global hip hop culture with their seminal debut, 3 Feet High and Rising (1989) and the dance floor addiction ‘The Magic Number’.

Since the group’s last tour to NZ in 2006 the group have won a Grammy for their collaboration with the Gorillaz on the single "Feel Good Inc". This is a chance to see one of the most influential hip hop groups in history perform as they re-create the classics from the ground up with support from DJ Marek. Tickets and venue info available from Ticketek.

Austen Found: The Undiscovered Musicals of Jane Austen: Entirely improvised musical in the style of Jane Austen. Incredibly silly and loads of fun for all, including Austen enthusiasts of course. There is much romping, cross stitching and being quite bright for a girl. Charming suitors, meddlesome mothers, tight breeches and surprisingly well educated girls will all paint a vivid picture in song, dance and passionate hand holding. Catch it at The Drake, Freemans Bay, Auckland.
